Tabe: A Multi-Level Asian Fusion & Omakase Gem in Downtown Ann Arbor!
We are excited to share an update on Tabe, the newest high-end Asian fusion restaurant in downtown Ann Arbor and a proud member of the 168 Group! Opened in late March at 209 S. Main St., Tabe has transformed the former Jim Brady’s space into a vibrant culinary and cultural destination.
Under the vision of 168 Group owner Cindy Wang, Tabe is designed to be a warm, comfortable gathering place where guests can truly unwind and enjoy exceptional food. The restaurant offers a distinct experience on each of its three floors:
- First Floor: Features a diverse menu of Asian-fusion dishes, perfect for a casual meal.
- Second Floor: Dedicated to an elevated and curated multi-course Omakase experience. Here, chefs craft seasonal menus right in front of diners, offering seven-, nine-, or twelve-course options, ensuring a unique experience with each visit.
- Third Floor: Provides a sophisticated space for private events, offering views of the second floor's culinary artistry.
Jieyu Wang, 168 Group’s Chief Administrative Officer, emphasizes Tabe's commitment to authenticity in its dishes and its overall environment, aiming to bring good energy, art, and food together. The menu boasts a variety of delectable entrees such as Korean barbecue short ribs, Thai curry with chicken and shrimp, and the signature Tabe Braised Golden Meatball, alongside fresh salads, soups, noodles, and sushi.
Beyond the exquisite food, Tabe offers an impressive selection of Asian specialty drinks, including rare Japanese whiskey and premium sakes. The attention to detail extends to the restaurant's aesthetics, with every corner filled with symbolic artwork and traditional Asian designs, curated by Cindy Wang herself. As advisor Archie Mojares explains, the ambiance is designed to make time stop, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the company and the culinary journey.
Tabe is more than just a restaurant; it's a place where different Asian cultures and people come together to share in a memorable experience.
Tabe is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
