168 Asian Mart: A Cultural Hub and Culinary Destination in Metro Detroit!

We're incredibly proud to share the story of 168 Asian Mart, a cornerstone of the 168 Group, and how it's actively reshaping the Metro Detroit community by blending diverse cultures, one aisle at a time!

Located in Madison Heights, 168 Asian Mart, led by President Cindy Wang, is far more than just a grocery store. It has evolved into a vibrant destination for authentic Asian cuisine and products, drawing shoppers not only from across Michigan but even from out-of-state.

Cindy Wang and her late husband first recognized the need for quality Asian grocery options in the area decades ago when they opened Fuji Buffet. From a modest 6,000-square-foot Chinese grocery, 168 Asian Mart has expanded to an impressive 40,000 square feet, with plans to double its footprint, thanks to the tremendous support from the city of Madison Heights.

The market boasts an unparalleled selection of foods and groceries from a multitude of Asian countries, including Korea, Japan, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand. Beyond food, 168 Asian Mart offers a wide range of Asian beauty products and toys, catering to a diverse clientele and serving as a bridge between Eastern and Western tastes.

As Cindy Wang beautifully puts it, "We are merging the cultures." 168 Asian Mart provides a unique and immersive experience, allowing both first and second-generation Asians, as well as those from all backgrounds, to connect with and celebrate Asian culture through its vast array of products and welcoming environment.
